Photo Moderation Policy

Profile-photo moderation is separate from liveness and identity verification. Passing one does not grant or bypass the other.

1. Suitable profile photos

Photos must be genuine, usable images relevant to the account member. Group and culturally modest photos—including hijab, niqab and traditional clothing—are allowed when otherwise compliant. You need permission for images containing other adults. Primarily textual, scenic, advertising, random-object or impersonating images may be unsuitable.

2. Prohibited images

Nudity, sexual activity, sexually explicit or fetish material, lingerie-focused or sexualized imagery, bikini or swimwear imagery unsuitable for this matrimonial context, exploitation, graphic violence, hate symbols, unlawful material, non-consensual intimate content, deceptive use of minors, stolen watermarked photos, contact advertising and malicious files are prohibited.

3. Automated safety checks

Before publication, the app confirms a decodable image, uses on-device object signals for human presence and uses an on-device classifier for explicit content. Server checks verify upload authorization and a valid moderation result. Exact thresholds are not published because that would assist evasion. Automated systems can make mistakes and evolve.

4. Approval and review

Compliant photos may publish without advance administrator approval. High-confidence explicit-content results are blocked and may enter a restricted moderator queue. Members and staff may report or review an approved image when new risk or context appears. We may remove, blur or restrict it during investigation.

5. Photo privacy

Moderation approval is different from visibility. Members can choose public, mutual-interest or request-to-view privacy. Signed media access and account permissions enforce these choices, but an authorized viewer may still capture what they see. Upload only what you can tolerate an authorized recipient viewing.

6. Decisions and appeals

The app gives a practical reason where possible, such as unsupported image, no person detected or explicit content. Try a different clear image for quality errors. Appeal at safety@silarah.com with account email and approximate upload time; do not attach prohibited material to ordinary email.

7. Enforcement

Repeated prohibited uploads, fabricated scores or bypass attempts may cause feature limits, suspension or termination. Apparent child sexual exploitation or other serious unlawful content may be preserved and reported where required.
